December 17th - Tianjing, Horse Rides, Houses from The Opium Wars, and Night Life

The next morning I took some pictures of the sunrise, and us leaving our hotel.

A view of the sunrise.
Our hotel.

We would have dinner with our close friends and family in Tianjing. They were very nice, and our uncle-in-law was very curious as to when we were going to move to China. Also, our aunt gave us a free phone that would work in China.

That night we found a massage parlor, and had my first professional massage ever (let alone in China). The four of us in one big room got Nanjing-style massages. It was really, really nice. There were some parts of the massage that I found were more painful than relaxing, so I asked the masseuse to avoid those. Everyone else made fun of me - but I didn't get the pain aspect of the massage. This was also where I learned the word for pain (tong, pronounced "tung").

The rest of it was really quite nice however, especially how they crack your lower back.
